What is Mobile Deposit?

FSBB’s Mobile Deposit service allows you to make a deposit into your checking or savings account using the First State Bank of Bedias Mobile Banking App on supported iPhone® or Android™ device.

You can deposit checks on your schedule, saving you time out of your busy day to make a trip to one of our locations.

How does Mobile Deposit work?

Sign on to your FSBB Mobile Banking App then follow these simple steps:

  1. Endorse Check
    Please be sure that you endorse your items correctly. A FSBB Mobile Deposit Endorsement should contain your signature followed by "For Mobile Deposit to FSBB Acct #: _____"
  2. Select the Mobile Deposits Tab
  3. Choose Make a Deposit
  4. Select the account you wish to make the deposit to
  5. Enter the amount of the check
  6. Select ‘Take a Picture’
  7. Take a picture of the front of the check by selecting ‘Take’ For photos that work best, follow these guidelines: Place your check on a dark-colored, plain surface that is well lit. Position your camera directly over the check (not at an angle). Align check within the corners of your mobile device's camera screen guide.
  8. If the picture is clear and legible, select ‘Accept’; otherwise select ‘Retake’ and try again.
  9. Take a picture of the back of the check using the same tips as above, by selecting ‘Take’
  10. If the picture is clear and legible, select ‘Accept’; otherwise select ‘Retake’ and try again.
  11. Once a picture is accepted for the back of the item, the deposit will be submitted and a confirmation page will appear.
  12. Hold on Funds
    Once the deposit is processed, there is a Mobile Deposit Hold on the funds for 3 business days. The Mobile Deposit will appear in the account's transactions, however there will be a corresponding hold amount for the total amount of the deposit.

Is there a fee to use Mobile Deposit?

No. There is no fee to use FSBB’s Mobile Banking App or Mobile Deposit. You may, however, incur normal data (internet) usage charges from your wireless carrier for the use of internet browsing on your mobile device. Contact your carrier for details on related rates or charges.

How do I access Mobile Deposit?

You must download the First State Bank of Bedias app from the Apple App store or Google Play. Once you have downloaded and opened the application you will be able to access your accounts by clicking Mobile Banking and logging in using your Online Banking credentials.  Once logged into Mobile Banking, you will see a Mobile Deposit tab, and can make deposits from there.

Mobile Deposit Limits

There is no minimal amount of an item that you can deposit using Mobile Deposit. However, there is a $5,000 maximum daily limit for Mobile Deposit. This can be one single item, or multiple items totaling $5,000.

What about the check?

Once you have made your mobile deposit, store the check in a safe place. After reviewing your statement carefully, confirming that your deposit has posted to your account, you should destroy the original Eligible Item by shredding it or cutting it up.

Alerts

Within your Online Banking profile, you have the ability to set up alerts specifically for your Mobile Deposits allowing you to know exactly when your Mobile Deposit has been approved, processed and when the funds are available to you.

Is Mobile Deposit Secure?

Yes. Account information and check images are not stored on your mobile device. All of the security features from Online Banking are in place to safeguard your privacy and protect your account information.

We use advanced encryption and security technology:

  • Your credentials, account information, and check images are secure within our Online Banking platform
  • Check images are not stored on your mobile device
  • Complete account numbers are not used or stored on your mobile device.

What information is stored on my phone/device?

With Mobile Deposit, there is no information stored on your phone. However, as a security precaution, you should not store your credentials in the notepad or address book of your mobile device. In addition, all mobile devices should use a locking method of PIN, pattern, and/or thumbprint for access.

What if my mobile device is lost or stolen?

If you mobile device is lost or stolen, report it immediately to your mobile carrier. Then log into your Online Banking account from a computer and reset your password, or call a Customer Service Representative at 936-395-2141  or 979-589-2407 and we will assist you in changing your Online Banking password.

What if I believe my Online Banking Username or Password has been compromised or an unauthorized transaction has occurred via my mobile device?

Notify us immediately by calling a Customer Service Representative at 936-395-2141 or 979-589-2407.
